vOLUNTEERS

In this page Yayasan Cipta Mandiri goals are to give life skills and change lives of people who want to change therefore to achieve it we also build a strong relationship with several foundation to get volunteers from big countries such as Australia and German as native speakers to improve the english quality of our students and to share their experiences as well as their knowledge. these volunteers help the students to practice their english skills and give them a view about how it feels to live in other countries by sharing their life experiences. now days we have three volunteers. Two volunteers from german, Jacsha gruebel and Stefan Schmidt, are young volunteers from AFS programm have been helping us since August 2009 and one Australian volunteer from VIDA program miss Jennifer Owens. Before them we also had several volunteers such as Elder Bikker & His Wife, Elder Keane & His Wife, Miss Alex Engel from AYAD, Trutz & Ellen from German , Mrs. Sally, Mrs. Edwina and Rebecca lewis from Australia and others who we cannot mention therefore we do apologize. They have given big contribution in our development in order to achieve our goals. We can not be who we are today without them therefore many thanks for them and we will definitely miss them even when we are miles apart. They will not be forgotten. We hope we can continue this bonding with all the foreign foundations so they can send us volunteers to improve and develope our
quality not to mention to achieve our goals.

Stefan

My name is Stefan and I am 20 years old. I have been volunteering in YCM for six months now and will stay here for another five. This place is really awesome. The students are very motivated and the whole atmosphere is very inspiring. I could not be in a better project. What I especially like is that in YCM students get a broader view and learn about tolerance. It is really great when you can see progress in students and when some can even further their education in another place because of the skills they learnt in YCM!

Mj

I arrived in Indonesia in October 2009 as a Volunteer for International Development Australia (VIDA) here at YCM. From the first minute I arrived I fell in love with the place, it’s so special: the students, the creativity, the energy, the concept! My role is to support and enhance the behind the scenes running of things, develop and find suitable resources, and support the tutors in their professional development. We have fortnightly tutor workshops where we share together, learn some new information and topics, and challenge ourselves to strive for more and be an example of a leaders for our students. I love being able to work here and living in Bogor is great, and I’m happy to be here until April 2011.
